Enemies attack without warning, there's no block button — dodging is the whole defense — and one badly timed roll undoes the run you spent ten minutes building. Combat is built on patterns. Watch how an enemy winds up, dodge through the swing instead of away from it, then punish the gap before it closes. Light attacks chain into combos, a special move covers the openings your timing can't, and the ultimate exists for the moment three of them corner you at once. Between fights the world is worth searching: chests hidden off the path hold upgrades, and upgrades are the only reason the next area is survivable.

One rule runs the whole game: watch the wind-up, not the enemy. Every attack telegraphs before it lands, and dodging at the right moment beats dodging early. Hold Shift to close distance, left-click to strike, and press X the instant a swing starts — not when it’s already coming down.

Chain light attacks into combos, but don’t finish a combo you can’t cancel — the recovery frames are where most runs end. Save E for the openings your timing misses, and hold Q until three enemies have you surrounded, which will happen. R locks the camera onto one target, which helps in a duel and hurts in a crowd, so learn when to drop it. Then go looking: chests sit off the main path, and the upgrades inside are the difference between clearing the next area and repeating this one. Sprint everywhere, die less, and the samurai you’re playing slowly becomes one worth the name.
